“80% SemiIIon from old vines in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch and 20% Stellenbosch Sauvignon Blanc. Matured for some six months in older French oak Some struck-match reduction before pear, peach, lime and lemon, fynbos, vanilla and spice on the nose. The palate is pure and energetic - pure fruit and bright acidity before a dry finish. Still rather primary, this should mature beautifully.”

This latest review comes on the back of a Silver Medal won at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2023.

This is an astonishing value wine from South Africa that comprises 80% barrel-aged Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc. The Sauvignon Blanc comes from the highest vineyard on the Simonsberg mountain and the Semillon is sourced from old vines in Franschhoek.

The Coterie wines draw upon a convergence of Wildeberg's tiny production pool of identified vineyards. Made with Wildeberg's cornerstone philosophies of minimal intervention winemaking, wild ferment and coarse filtration to capture the essence of the source vineyards and soils.
