Sileni Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc
Gold Medal Winning Wine - Mundus Vini competition
“What a great endorsement for the collective strength of the Vineyard and Winemaking team at Sileni. Given the level of highly skilled, critical evaluation by the international judging panels at Mundus Vini, our confidence in what we do and the way we work is truly reinforced by this first Gold Medal of the 2022 vintage”. Sileni winemaker James Hillard
Sileni Estates Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc - Ripe tropical and gooseberry fruit flavours with a zingy finish and impeccable balance. A great aperitif or seafood wine made for drinking young. Serve lightly chilled.
Grown on a vareity of soil types; gravels provide tropical flavours, clay loams produce citrus notes, and deep silty soils lift the aromatic quality. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain natural fruit characters. A portion of Semillon is added in the final blend for additional complexity and palate weight.
Mundus Vini, based in Germany, is a globally recognised and established wine competition, with c.12,000 wines entered each year. The Gold medal was awarded at the 31st Grand International Wine Award Competition, where the wines were blind tasted and professionally evaluated by a 130-member international jury of experts from 33 wine-growing nations.
