Pecorino Colline Pescaresi Caparrone

The delicious Italian white grape Pecorino is currently very trendy and can be easily spotted on bar and restaurant wine lists across the land.

 

This version, a previous gold medal winner at the Sommelier Wine Awards, is from the excellent Contesa estate in the hills west of Pescara, recognised as one of the best vineyard zones in Abruzzo. It is made in a light, crisp style, designed for drinking young and fresh, a delicious summer seafood wine.

 

It has vibrant aromas of stone fruit with citrus and grapefruit notes. The palate is crisp and zesty with layers of fresh peachy, tropical fruit flavours. A lively and approachable wine, with texture and minerality giving depth - all backed by lively acidity.
