Pinino Brunello di Montalcino - An opulent and concentrated Brunello, with bright cherry notes underpinned by stony minerality. Full bodied and firm, with silky tannins and a long finish full of finesse.
The carefully selected fruit was vinified in temperature controlled 100 hectolitre stainless steel vats. Fermentation took place with selected yeasts at approximately 24 to 26 °C, followed by maceration lasting 10 days at 28 to 30°C to extract the colour, flavour and tannins. Daily tastings took place to ensure the desired levels of extraction were achieved. The wine was aged in 20 to 25 hectolitre Slavonian oak vats for 30 months.
The Pinino winery is based in the picturesque town of Montalcino in Tuscany and has a long winemaking history, dating back to 1874. Since 1950, Pinino has been inscribed in the Brunello register of winemakers, and in 2003, Spaniard Max Hernandez and Austrian Andrea Gamon pursued their passion for producing quality wines and purchased the estate.
For Max – whose father had been a winemaker in Toro – it also signified an adventure leading him back to his family’s roots. Together they have invested in the estate, they quadrupled the cultivation area to 16 hectares with the addition of the Canchi vineyard and transformed the estate, producing world-class wines.
The vineyards are cultivated sustainably, following the Agriqualità standards. This family-run winery produces award-winning wines with incredible structure, elegance and great longevity.
