Feudo Maccari Nere Nero d'Avola
Feudo Maccari Nere Nero d'Avola - Aromas of fresh, bright pure fruit - cherry and berry characters. the palate is fruit-forward with more wild cherry and damson notes combining with warm, spich characters. Ripe, chewy tannins and fresh acidity give plenty of structure too. Approachable, but with depth and complexity.
Nero d'Avola is one of Sicily's oldest indigenous grapes - its name derives from ‘coming down from Avola’ – Avola being a small town in south-east Sicily. It is found throughout the island, but south-east Sicily is the grape's original home, and where the best vineyards are located. Feudo Maccari can be found here, in the Noto area near Avola, and not far from the town of Pachino - also known for the quality of its tomatoes! The grape here produces wines which combine concentration with really vibrant fruit.
